NFL Star Keion White Shot Following Nightclub Dispute with Rapper Lil Baby
San Francisco 49ers defensive lineman Keion White was shot outside a San Francisco nightclub in the early hours of Monday morning, following a reported dispute with Grammy-winning rapper Lil Baby. The incident occurred just hours after the Seattle Seahawks defeated the New England Patriots 29-13 in Super Bowl LX in Santa Clara.
Chaotic Scene at Dahlia's Nightclub
According to a police report viewed by The San Francisco Standard, the shooting took place at Dahlia's on Mission Street, where a private event was being held on the lower level. Witnesses state that the altercation began when the entourage of rapper Lil Baby, born Dominique Jones, attempted to enter White's private area. The argument escalated quickly, leading to gunfire that left White with a gunshot wound to his left ankle.
Officers responding to the 4:06 a.m. shooting discovered a chaotic scene. The police report notes the presence of adult entertainers and scattered dollar bills on the floor. "As I entered, I saw numerous scantily clad females picking up dollar bills that were strewn all over the floor. Some of the females were topless and appeared to have been adult entertainers," the report read.
Investigation and Evidence
Investigators found both 9mm and .45-caliber shell casings at the scene, indicating that multiple weapons may have been discharged during the fray. White was reportedly uncooperative with officers when asked to identify the shooter. He was subsequently transported to a local hospital for emergency surgery and is now beginning a lengthy rehabilitation process.
Initial reports by The Athletic claimed that White was not involved in the verbal altercation between two groups that preceded the gunfire. However, new details suggest the dispute directly involved the rapper's entourage and the NFL player.
Background and Fanbase Concern
Keion White, a 27-year-old defensive lineman, was acquired by the San Francisco 49ers in a trade with the New England Patriots last year. Originally selected by New England in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft, the 6-foot-5, 285-pound player had a standout career at Georgia Tech. This incident has gripped the 49ers fanbase, as it marks the second time in 18 months a player has been shot in the city, following the near-fatal attack on Ricky Pearsall in August 2024.
Lil Baby, a Grammy-winning artist whose album 'WHAM' topped the Billboard 200, had been at Super Bowl LX on Sunday night before performing a concert and later arriving at the club with his entourage. A witness interviewed by police confirmed that Jones' entourage was on the main floor and tried to enter the private area, sparking the argument with White.
The Daily Mail has reached out to Lil Baby's representatives for comment, but no response has been provided yet. The San Francisco Police Department continues to investigate the shooting, with no arrests made at this time.
