Manchester United have been guided into the Champions League by Michael Carrick, setting the stage for a busy summer transfer window. The club secured a third-place finish in the Premier League with a 3-0 victory over Brighton, ensuring European football next season.
Verbal Agreement Reached for Ederson
With Casemiro set to depart and Manuel Ugarte's future uncertain, United are moving quickly to strengthen their midfield. According to talkSPORT, a full verbal agreement has been reached with Atalanta star Ederson over a prospective five-year deal. Talks between the two clubs are underway, with a proposed fee of £43 million. Ederson, not to be confused with the former Manchester City goalkeeper, could be the first of multiple midfield additions this summer, with Elliot Anderson also identified as a target.
Scott McTominay Price Tag Set
Scott McTominay continues to impress at Napoli after his £26 million transfer from United in 2024. He has won the Super Cup this season and helped Napoli secure Champions League football. Former Italy star Marco Materazzi believes McTominay's value has skyrocketed, stating: 'I love Scott McTominay. When he established himself at United, I told my son he would become one of the best in the world. And now he is. He is an incredible box-to-box player. I still don't understand how Manchester United could sell him for so little. In my opinion, he's worth £70 million, but he left for £26 million. Is this one of the biggest transfer mistakes in history? I definitely think so.'
McTominay's sensational form has prompted Napoli to open talks over an improved contract extension until 2030, an upgrade on his current deal which runs until 2028. It is expected he will agree to this extension.
