The Front Bar Mocks Carlton with Hilarious Whiteboard Spoof

It has been a gruelling season for Carlton, who are one of only three teams to have secured a solitary victory from their first eight games. This weekend, they face the formidable Brisbane Lions, a side eager to maintain their position among the top three.

The Front Bar's Mockery

The popular show The Front Bar has ridiculed the club ahead of the clash, underscoring just how far Carlton have fallen. In a parody of the leaked Lions whiteboard from before their victory over Essendon last weekend—which listed strengths and weaknesses—the show posted a 'leak' of the whiteboards used for their analysis of Carlton.

The mock-up featured an entire office full of whiteboards, each labelled with the term 'weaknesses' and the Carlton logo. Perhaps most embarrassingly, not a single board displayed 'strengths'.

The Leaked Clip

In a clip posted to their X account, Nick Molloy stated, 'Unfortunately, there has been another leak.' Andy Maher responded, 'There has—the Brisbane whiteboard story; everyone has been across it. The Aus kickers going through the club, and one of the dads quite innocently took a photo, put it in a WhatsApp group, and it got posted.'

Molloy followed up, 'There has been another leak from the Lions. Well, they play Carlton this week, so they wanted to do the same thing and prepare a whiteboard for strengths and weaknesses. But they had to order in because they needed more whiteboards—weakness, weakness, weakness,' he said as the mock-up was shown. This drew a swell of laughter from the audience, highlighting how Carlton has become one of the AFL's laughing stocks.

Carlton's Struggles

Carlton have endured a nightmare season, managing just one win in eight games. Their sole victory came against fellow strugglers who are currently at the bottom of the Premiership ladder. So poor have their performances been that they have failed to score over 90 points in a single game. In their last match, they were dismantled 108-69 by St Kilda, kicking only 9 goals to their opponents' 16.

Brisbane's Form

In contrast, Brisbane are sitting fourth in the league and aiming to keep pace with the top three with a win this weekend. They have won two consecutive games and ran riot against Essendon following the original whiteboard leak. That leak, which surfaced before their tie with Essendon, included a less-than-positive review of the Bombers, labelling Zach Merrett and Kyle Langford as 'selfish', Ben McKay as having 'low confidence', Elijah Tsatas as 'fumbly', Saad El-Hawli's 'defensive accountability' questioned, and Xavier Duursma's 'decision making' criticised.

Carlton will be aiming to pull off one of the biggest upsets of the season to add to their solitary win, but that may be difficult against a Lions side in top form.
