Arsenal supporters gathering in north London pubs expressed contentment with their team's season, even as the Champions League final ended in a penalty shootout defeat to Paris Saint-Germain. The Gunners, fresh from their Premier League triumph, fell 4-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in Budapest.
Fans filled Holloway Road pubs, with the Argos sign altered to read 'Arsenal'. Lucy, a 30-year fan from Paris, said: 'The mood is amazing. I will be happy either way but more happy if we win the Champions League.' Gregory, also from Paris, noted PSG's strength but remained hopeful.
Isaac, visiting from Ghana, described the Premier League win as 'the best thing ever' and said that trophy was more important. Jack Devonport, 25, a lifelong fan, said: 'I've seen all the negatives and finally it feels like we're at the pinnacle.' He added that watching the season with his father was 'massive' and 'something we'll never forget.'
Kai Havertz gave Arsenal an early lead, but Ousmane Dembélé's penalty forced extra time. Eberechi Eze and Gabriel Magalhães missed in the shootout, handing PSG the title. Despite the loss, fans remained proud of a season that ended a 22-year Premier League drought.
