Karen Pirie Season 2 Filming Locations: A Tour of Scotland's Scenic Spots

Following the success of its first series in 2022, ITV's crime drama Karen Pirie returns for a second season, starring Lauren Lyle as the tenacious Detective Inspector. The new series, centred on the 1984 abduction of heiress Catriona Grant and her two-year-old son Adam, is filmed across Scotland, offering viewers a glimpse of the country's stunning landscapes.

Key filming locations include the picturesque harbour town of Cellardyke in Fife, where Karen's cottage is situated on Shore Street. The abduction itself was shot in Kinghorn, also in Fife, with additional footage captured in nearby Inverkeithing. The cottage where Catriona and Adam are held is located on the Luss Estate in Loch Lomond, a Highland estate previously featured in Black Mirror.

Other notable locations include the Glenrothes Police Station, which doubles as the police station in the series, and The Citizen bar and restaurant in Glasgow, where Karen goes on a date with colleague Phil. Flashback scenes set in a club were filmed at Glasgow's iconic Barrowland Ballroom. The series also features Birkhill Castle, the residence of the Earl of Dundee, standing in for Rotheswell Castle.
