Assistant Commissioner of Police Advardo Dames confirmed to Reuters that Brian Hooker was arrested on Wednesday evening in Abaco for additional questioning. "We took him into custody around 7:30 p.m. this evening in Abaco for additional questioning based on some probable cause we have," Dames stated during a phone interview. "He's been taken into custody as a suspect. He's been arrested."

Brian Hooker told authorities that his wife fell overboard with the boat's keys, which caused the vessel's engine to shut off abruptly.
The police report further detailed that strong currents allegedly carried Lynette away before her husband lost sight of her completely.
