Dean Cain Defends Ice Move At Cpac Amid Training Mockery

Former Superman actor Dean Cain has announced he will join US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (Ice) to support President Donald Trump's mass deportation agenda. Speaking on Fox News, Cain said he would be sworn in 'ASAP' after sharing an Ice recruitment video on Instagram.

Cain, who played the Man of Steel in the 1990s TV series Lois & Clark, said he was inspired by patriotism and a belief that Trump is delivering on his campaign promises. 'This country was built on patriots stepping up, whether it was popular or not, and doing the right thing,' he told host Jesse Watters.

The actor's announcement comes amid a major Ice recruitment drive, with the agency receiving $75bn in extra funding to hire 10,000 new agents by 2029. Ice has ramped up immigration raids since Trump returned to the White House, aiming for at least 3,000 arrests daily, sparking protests across the US.

Cain, a former reserve police officer, said he hopes others will follow his lead. 'I'm stepping up. Hopefully, a whole bunch of other former officers, former Ice agents, will step up and we'll meet those recruitment goals immediately,' he said.

The move has drawn criticism, with some mocking his training prospects. Cain previously called the latest Superman film 'woke' for portraying the character as an immigrant, though he acknowledged Superman is an alien and 'the American way is immigrant friendly'. He added, 'But there are rules... There have to be limits.'
