An Afghan migrant has admitted to a series of violent sexual offences, including the kidnap and rape of a teenager, just days after sexually assaulting another woman in her late twenties. Najeebullah Arab, aged 39, entered guilty pleas to charges of kidnap, rape, and two counts of sexual assault at Oxford Crown Court yesterday, bringing a harrowing case to a partial close as sentencing awaits.
Details of the Assaults
The first incident occurred on January 21 of this year, when Arab approached a woman in her late twenties on Cane Lane in Grove, Oxfordshire. He followed her to Main Street, where he subjected her to a sexual assault. This attack set a disturbing precedent for what was to follow.
Escalation to Kidnap and Rape
Merely six days later, on January 27, Arab targeted a teenage girl while riding a bicycle on Grove Road. After initiating a brief conversation, he sexually assaulted the teen before forcibly taking her to an area behind Mably Way, where he raped her. This escalation in violence highlighted the grave danger posed by the offender.
Police Investigation and Arrest
Thames Valley Police took swift action, arresting Arab on January 30. He was formally charged two days later, on February 1, for his crimes. Notably, Arab did not self-define his ethnicity upon entering police custody, a detail that has been recorded but does not detract from the severity of the offences.

Senior investigating officer Detective Chief Inspector Stuart May commended the victims for their bravery, stating: 'Firstly, I want to acknowledge the victims in this case for the incredible courage they've shown in coming forward. Thames Valley Police take reports of sexual offences extremely seriously, especially those involving violence against women and girls.'
He added: 'Our officers are committed to carrying out thorough investigations, supporting victims every step of the way, and working closely with our partners to help prevent further harm. The guilty plea in this case is a clear reflection of the strength and thoroughness of the evidence gathered by our officers in relation to these offences. Faced with the weight of that evidence, he had no option but to admit what he had done.'
