This deployment comes in response to what authorities have described as a 'sickening' raid targeting a Jewish volunteer ambulance service.
Attack on Golders Green Synagogue
In the early hours of this morning, three hooded individuals were captured on closed-circuit television footage setting four ambulances ablaze outside a synagogue in the Golders Green area of north-west London. The vehicles, which belonged to the Hatzola Jewish community ambulance service, were doused with accelerant before being ignited, causing the perpetrators to flee the scene.
Chillingly, oxygen gas canisters stored inside the emergency vehicles exploded at approximately 1:45 am, resulting in the windows of the synagogue and several adjacent residential properties being blown out. As a precautionary measure, local residents were evacuated from their homes, although fortunately no injuries were reported from the attack on this vital service, established in 1979 to provide free medical transport and emergency response to north London communities.
Counter-Terrorism Investigation Underway

Three of the community ambulances were completely destroyed, reduced to charred and fragmented wreckage following the internal explosions.

'The rapid growth in recent years of Iranian state threats is grave: hostile state surveillance activity, twenty disrupted plots, and recent attempted attacks on the Iranian diaspora,' Sir Mark stated. 'None of this is isolated – it is part of a rapidly shifting threat landscape.'
While emphasising that it remains premature to definitively attribute the Golders Green attack to the Iranian state, a determination that will properly fall to the ongoing counter-terrorism investigation, Sir Mark underscored the seriousness of the impact regardless of the perpetrators' identity. 'We are pursuing all lines of enquiry, including an online claim of responsibility by an Islamist group who have claimed other attacks across Europe and have potential Iranian state links,' he added.
The Commissioner praised the swift local response to the attack, which he believes saved lives, and declared: 'An attack on Hatzola is not only an attack on the Jewish community but on all of us. There is no "us and them". There is only an attack on a British community.'
Political Condemnation and Community Fear
Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood echoed these sentiments, warning of a dangerous escalation in anti-Semitism across Britain and characterising the firebombing as 'an attack on this country and on us all'. She spoke poignantly of 'the oldest hatred rising once more', suggesting that Jewish citizens in the United Kingdom are now enduring lives of constant apprehension and fear.
