The Daily Mail reveals today that this engagement was brokered by Markus Anderson, the close friend who famously organised Meghan's blind date with Prince Harry in 2016.

Meghan, 44, will be the star guest at the inaugural 'Her Best Life Retreat', a three-day event in Sydney organised by events company Besties, founded by radio host Jackie O Henderson and her associate Gemma O'Neill. VIP experience tickets are priced at £1,705 (approximately $3,199 Australian dollars), granting access to a group table photograph with the Duchess of Sussex and an on-stage interview session during a two-night stay at a five-star Sydney hotel.
Attendees will also receive a gift bag, with speculation suggesting it may contain products from Meghan's As Ever lifestyle brand, such as jam, flower sprinkles, and candles. The retreat promises an 'ultimate girls' weekend' featuring meditation sessions, sound healing, women's psychology discussions, poolside cocktails overlooking Coogee Beach, and evening entertainment including a DJ and disco.

Gemma O'Neill disclosed that Markus Anderson reached out to her while visiting Meghan's Montecito mansion to suggest the Duchess as guest of honour. O'Neill described Anderson as 'the bee's knees and a top-notch human', explaining that despite initial reluctance, she agreed because Markus 'wouldn't be so close with someone who wasn't also the same'.
Anderson's involvement marks his continued influence in Meghan's professional life, eight years after he arranged her blind date with Prince Harry at London's Soho House.
