He elaborated further, noting, "Obviously finding out during the show that she'd slept with her ex two days before we actually got married… looking at it now, I'm just feeling like if she was doing that, she wasn't ready." "She posted some sort of TikTok… three, four weeks after we finished, she's back with him living in his apartment," Chris claimed. "We were both very particular people. And I think the environment just got to us multiple times," he confessed. "If one of us felt sh*t, the other one would jump on board and feel sh*t as well. So like she obviously left the first weekend… little things, but everything just compiled and made her sort of just wanna get outta there and get back home."

Chris, who admitted to being "too controlling" and struggling without access to his mobile phone, described the experience as "more stressful and more frustrating" than he had ever anticipated. "My personality doesn't suit it at all," he stated. "I got frustrated all the time… being kept in my room without a phone… I was just spiralling the whole time."

However, the atmosphere reportedly shifted almost immediately when a friend allegedly commented about her height as she proceeded down the aisle. Chris claimed Brook felt unsettled by the "footy dynamics," and he only later realized how profoundly this incident had affected her.

"She told me it wasn't until… day two or three [of the honeymoon] that she changed her opinion and realised that we actually connected really well on a personality level," he recalled. By the time they reached the shared apartments, Chris believed they represented one of the program's strongest matches. "Compared to everyone else I felt we had more of a connection based on similarities and personality," he affirmed.

Unresolved Feelings and Familiar Comforts

Nevertheless, Chris now believes Brook's unresolved emotions and gravitational pull toward familiar comforts ultimately doomed their relationship from inception. "She was going back to something familiar because she was worried about this new experience," he theorized. Chris also provided insight into their dramatic final week, disclosing that both participants had booked departure flights before their last commitment ceremony, recognizing their relationship was unsustainable.

He described that week's dinner party as fueled by chaos and excessive alcohol consumption, alleging Brook arrived "blind" after consuming three champagne bottles in her vehicle. The evening reportedly deteriorated when Brook clashed with fellow participant Stella, and Chris himself targeted other cast members. He expressed regret over certain comments, particularly "targeting Alissa based on her personal life."

"It's something that I wouldn't do normally," Chris admitted. "Emotions pushed things… probably should have gone [another way]." In one of his most confronting allegations, Chris claimed Brook reached breaking point due to pressure from relationship experts and production crew, with cameras pursuing her even during attempts to escape filming.

"They were trying to make the narrative of her deserting me," he asserted. "That's not what she was doing. She was just protecting herself." Chris recounted leaving the interview couch to locate Brook, alleging there were "no boundaries" during filming. "They were following her into the toilet, trying to film her with a camera," he claimed.

Ultimately, Chris stated they refused to allow producers to separate them for additional footage. "We said, no – you're not doing that. We're leaving together. That's our decisions," he declared.
