London Luton Airport has issued a simple three-word message to help passengers navigate security checks more smoothly. The advice, posted on X (formerly Twitter), urges travellers to remember 'Bag. Tray. Go.' to ensure a 'simple, friendly experience' when flying from the airport.
The airport's website expands on the tip, advising passengers to plan ahead when packing. It reminds travellers of strict rules regarding hand luggage, including that all liquid containers must be under 100ml each, and that creams, pastes, lotions, and gels count as liquids. Passengers are encouraged to keep liquids inside their bags for screening and to bring empty water bottles to refill after security.
During the security process, passengers should place bags and coats into trays, taking care not to overfill them. Small items such as watches, jewellery, money, wallets, phones, belts, and passports should be stored in hand baggage or coat pockets to streamline the process. The airport notes that some passengers may be randomly selected for additional scans, which typically take only a few minutes.
Luton Airport also advises checking what is allowed in hold and hand luggage before each flight to avoid delays. After clearing security, passengers can purchase full-sized liquids and proceed to the departures area to wait for their flight.
