Influencer Lorna Luxe Reveals Husband's Final Gift Before Cancer Death
Social media influencer Lorna Luxe has shared heartbreaking details about the final days with her husband John, who passed away on Wednesday following a battle with adrenal cancer. The 43-year-old content creator, known to her 1.6 million followers, revealed that John had prepared a Valentine's Day gift for her that he never got the chance to present.
Posthumous Valentine's Discovery
On Friday, Lorna explained that she had been opening mail addressed to John when she discovered a large envelope containing two custom-made Valentine's cards. "I've been opening mail and this big envelope addressed to John arrived a couple of weeks ago so I opened it," she wrote alongside photographs of the cards.
The cards showcased John's distinctive sense of humor. One featured Lorna's face superimposed onto Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa with the caption "work of art." The second card displayed John's face Photoshopped onto a cherub, creating a playful romantic gesture.
"Legendary behaviour here John, it was the chuckle I needed," Lorna added in her emotional tribute to her late husband.
Final Words and Last Moments
In a separate post shared the day before, Lorna revealed John's final words to her, leaving both fans and celebrity friends in tears. Alongside a photograph of John smiling during a holiday, she wrote a lengthy caption detailing their last conversation.
"The last conversation we had I asked him how he was feeling and he replied 'rough but in love,'" Lorna shared. "And that was so him, to the point and choosing to put aside his fears to make me feel cherished and loved."
Lorna also uploaded a poignant video showing the couple snuggling together during John's cancer battle. The clip captured John planting a kiss on Lorna's head while telling her, "I love you so much, honey. You're the best thing in the world for me."
Cancer Battle and Home Care
John, who was 21 years Lorna's senior, had been battling stage four adrenal cancer since his diagnosis in April 2023. The couple had been married for sixteen years when John passed away at age 64.
Last month, Lorna informed her followers that John's cancer had spread and treatment was "no longer an option." Tragically, he passed away on Wednesday with Lorna by his side.
"I am heartbroken," Lorna wrote in her announcement. "We were together to the very end, at home, in our own bed and holding hands which is exactly what he wanted."
She expressed gratitude for the district nurses who provided daily care, particularly mentioning Anna, whom she described as "a real life angel." Lorna also thanked her mother for providing support during those final difficult days.
Celebrity Tributes Pour In
Following the sad announcement, numerous celebrities offered their condolences and support. Cleaning influencer Sophie Hinchliffe, known as Mrs Hinch, wrote a particularly touching message.
"Lorna I am so, so sorry. My heart truly dropped reading this," Hinchliffe commented. "I've followed your page for such a long time, and the love you and John share has always been so inspiring and it always will be. No one can ever take away your memories, your love, or those quiet one-on-one conversations you'll carry with you forever."
She added, "Millions of us are here to help hold you up."
Other notable figures including Molly-Mae Hague, Abbey Clancy, Olivia Bowen, and Megan McKenna also shared their sympathies. Hague wrote, "Heartbroken for you. Rest in peace John. I am so beyond sorry for your loss," while Clancy admitted she "can't find any words" to express her sorrow.
A Love Story That Captivated Followers
Lorna and John's relationship had fascinated followers for years, with their twenty-one-year age difference and luxurious lifestyle featuring prominently in Lorna's content. The couple met when Lorna was twenty-five and working as a Virgin Atlantic flight attendant.
They married shortly after meeting in New York City and lived in several locations including Hove in East Sussex, Horsham, and Warwickshire. John, a former banker, left his career following his cancer diagnosis to focus on his health and support Lorna's influencer work.
The couple enjoyed indulgent hotel stays and romantic getaways, with Lorna previously describing how John had always treated her "like a princess." In a January Instagram post, she recalled how John surprised her by purchasing their first home together early in their relationship.
"He was helping me flat hunt at the time and as soon as I turned up, I thought, I can't afford this - and then he gave me a little smile and said 'I've bought this for us' and that's when I knew he was the one," Lorna wrote.
She added that John would frequently surprise her with gifts after dates during their early courtship, often presenting her with makeup or skincare products when she was earning modest wages as cabin crew.
In recent years, the couple made a conscious effort to "live life to the very fullest" despite John's health challenges. Just two weeks before his passing, Lorna shared a video of their final date night together.
Lorna concluded her tribute with a heartfelt message to her late husband: "John you are a class act and I will love you forever."
