Made In Chelsea alumni Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo have officially unveiled the first glimpse of their forthcoming Disney+ docuseries, titled 'Raising Chelsea'. The couple, who rose to fame on the reality television show, are set to invite viewers into their personal lives as they navigate the challenges and joys of new parenthood.
Teaser Trailer Sparks Excitement Among Fans
On Sunday, the pair took to Instagram to share a sweet teaser trailer for the upcoming project. The clip features Jamie, 37, and Sophie, 31, seated in director's chairs adorned with their names, alongside a conspicuously empty tiny seat reserved for their baby son, Ziggy, who was born in December.
Jamie captioned the post with an enthusiastic message: "Ready to meet our newest family member….? Raising Chelsea, coming soon to Disney+". This announcement triggered a wave of excitement from their dedicated fanbase, with comments flooding in such as "Omgosh love you both and how exciting! Can’t wait!" and "Fiiiiiiiiinallly!!! Feels like we've been waiting for centuries!!!".
A Decade in the Spotlight Leads to New Chapter
In a joint statement, Jamie and Sophie reflected on their nearly ten-year journey in the public eye, spanning television, radio, social media, and podcasts. They expressed honour in partnering with Disney+ and Dorothy St Pictures to bring this next chapter to a global audience.
"Navigating our lives with a baby on the way has opened up a whole new stage of our relationship – we can't wait to give you a front row seat!" the couple declared. The docuseries promises to delve into intimate aspects of their lives, including Sophie's pregnancy, balancing professional commitments, moving into their first family home, and managing both support and unsolicited advice.
Embracing Parenthood with Humour and Honesty
Recently, Jamie humorously referred to entering his "midlife crisis era" since becoming a first-time father, while Sophie enjoyed a brief respite from parenting duties at the BRIT Awards. On the red carpet, Jamie poked fun at his eye-catching outfit—a tank top and sunglasses—contrasting with Sophie's elegant plunging black gown.
Sophie candidly discussed the pressures new mothers face to "bounce back" post-birth, emphasising her desire to choose something "fun" for the event. She shared heartfelt reflections on early motherhood, saying, "He's now smiling and laughing and he just looks at me and smiles and I go 'you make my world go round!' which is the best."
Jamie echoed this sentiment, adding, "It's just the coolest thing ever, I have a little baby that I just love more than anything, it's the best thing ever." The couple's playful dynamic was evident as Sophie praised Jamie's new style in his "dad era", to which he quipped about their parenting skills in a light-hearted debate.
'Raising Chelsea' is poised to offer an authentic and engaging look into the realities of modern parenthood, blending personal milestones with the couple's signature charm and humour.
