Kylie Minogue Barbie Doll Launches, Inspired by Padam Padam

Mattel has announced a fresh collaboration with global pop superstar Kylie Minogue, resulting in the launch of an exclusive Barbie Signature Collector Doll. This highly anticipated collectible honours the legendary singer, aged 57, drawing direct inspiration from her unforgettable appearance in the Padam Padam music video.

A Striking Tribute in Vibrant Red

Clad entirely in a bold and striking red ensemble, the doll serves as a fitting homage to Minogue's illustrious career and her record-shattering legacy within the music industry. The design meticulously replicates the iconic red lace-up boots that she famously wore in the video, adding an authentic touch to the collectible.

Kylie Minogue expressed sheer delight, appearing overjoyed as she posed proudly with the new doll. This partnership marks the second collaboration between the singer and Mattel in recent times, following a unique Barbie Role Model doll created in 2024 as part of Barbie's 65th-anniversary festivities.

Meticulous Design and Global Availability

The Barbie design team engaged in close consultations with Minogue to ensure the doll accurately embodies her superstar persona and distinctive, bold style. Speaking about the creative process, Kylie remarked, 'Seeing this doll come to life has been really special.'

She added, 'The response to the one-of-a-kind Barbie Role Model was overwhelming, so I was excited to team up with Mattel again and I can’t wait to see Kylie Barbie out in the wild!'

The Barbie Signature Kylie Minogue Collectible Doll is set to hit the market on February 12. It will be available for purchase through Mattel Shop, Amazon, Argos, Hamleys, Very, and Smyths, with a retail price of £69.99.

Celebrating a Phenomenal Career Surge

This release coincides with a remarkable period in Minogue's career, which she described as 'absolutely crazy' during an interview on Zoe Ball's Radio 2 Breakfast Show. In 2024, she reflected on 'riding the wave' of success following the massive impact of Padam Padam.

The track not only garnered widespread critical acclaim but also earned Minogue her first Grammy Award in nearly two decades, winning the inaugural Best Pop Dance Recording at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards.

Following the single's release, Kylie achieved a number-one album with Tension, released a series of follow-up songs, and announced Tension II alongside a global tour. She emphasised, 'Connection has always been at the heart of everything I do, and sharing the joy and fun of the Tension era with people across the globe has been an incredible experience.'

A Legacy of Record-Breaking Achievements

Kylie Minogue's career is decorated with extraordinary milestones. She has sold over 80 million records worldwide, accumulated five billion streams, and secured 11 UK number-one albums. Notably, she stands as the only female artist to achieve a number-one album in five consecutive decades in the UK.

Her accolades include three BRIT Awards, two MTV Awards, and two Grammy Awards, solidifying her status as a global icon. The new Barbie doll, as Kylie noted, 'feels like a perfect snapshot' of the vibrant Tension era, capturing the spark from Padam Padam through to the albums and world tour.
