Reflecting on the filming process, Charli XCX noted, "The first scene we shot for the film was with Rachel and the last day was with Kylie. So we sort of bookended with two legends, which was pretty cool … two people playing themselves." "I think with the Kylie scene, it was so fun, because it really was so easy and effortless and she really, like, played with it, did her thing," Charli XCX explained. This project marks her first major leading role in a film, and she discussed her preparations, mentioning that she portrays a slightly exaggerated version of her real self in the narrative.
Charli XCX, who released her critically acclaimed Brat album in 2024, humorously remarked, "I play — I hope — a slightly different version of my real self in this film. I don't think I'm quite that much of a nightmare the whole time, but I wouldn't really be the best person to ask about that."
