Kate Hudson Shines at ICG Publicists Awards with Glamorous Appearance
Kate Hudson brought a touch of Hollywood glamour to the 63rd Annual ICG Publicists Awards on Friday. The 46-year-old actress captivated onlookers in a stunning strapless gown that featured a unique crinkled design, reminiscent of aluminum foil, with a structured hip detail that elegantly accentuated her curves.
On the red carpet, she paired the eye-catching dress with classic black patent leather pumps, which perfectly matched the neckline of her outfit. Hudson accessorised with bold silver and black statement earrings but kept other jewellery minimal to let the dress take centre stage.
Natural Beauty and Award Recognition
Her beauty look was understated yet chic, with simple makeup and her blonde hair worn down to highlight her natural features. At the luncheon ceremony held at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, Hudson was presented with the Motion Picture Showperson of the Year Award, honouring her contributions to the film industry over the years.
The award was handed to her by fellow actress Gwyneth Paltrow during the event, which also celebrated other projects like Sinners and The Pitt. In her acceptance speech, Hudson expressed her admiration for the filmmaking process, stating, 'Making movies is an extraordinary process. It doesn't end when we wrap.'
She added, 'We are also tasked with bringing that magic to audiences, and publicity is a huge part of that. I'm the showperson and you're the ship.' This accolade comes just days before the 98th Academy Awards, where Hudson is nominated for Best Actress for her role in Song Sung Blue.
Oscar Nomination and Family Support
This nomination marks Hudson's second Oscar nod, her first being 25 years ago for Almost Famous. In Song Sung Blue, a biographical musical drama released in late 2025, she stars opposite Hugh Jackman. The film, directed by Craig Brewer, tells the true story of the Neil Diamond tribute act Lightning & Thunder from Milwaukee.
Hudson's family is rallying behind her for the Oscars. Her father, Russell Hudson, shared his excitement in a recent interview, saying, 'She's up for her second Oscar. Goldie won one and was nominated twice. If Kate were to win, she and Goldie would share that, which would be a wonderful thing.'
He also confirmed his attendance, noting, '[I] didn't think I was going to be able to make it to the Academy Awards because I was going to be out of town, but now it looks like I am.' Russell praised his daughter's talent and reflected on his long-term relationship with Goldie Hawn, emphasising their strong family bond.
Overall, Hudson's appearance at the ICG Publicists Awards not only showcased her style but also highlighted her ongoing impact in Hollywood as she prepares for a potential Oscar win.
