Karishma Vijay Secures Double Victory on The Apprentice with Lord Sugar's Backing

The winner of the BBC's business competition The Apprentice has been revealed in a tense final episode, with Karishma Vijay emerging victorious to claim Lord Sugar's coveted £250,000 investment. The 28-year-old beauty entrepreneur from Surrey triumphed over fellow finalist Pascha Myhill in an all-female showdown, marking a significant milestone in her professional and personal journey.

A Life Transformed by Television Opportunity

Karishma expressed overwhelming gratitude for her experience on the show, describing it as life-changing. "I actually can't believe my life right now," she said. "Things keep happening. I'm just having a really good week. I think people are happy to see me happy." Reflecting on her recent engagement alongside the Apprentice victory, she humorously noted: "I just got engaged - so what?! I feel like I will never get over this experience. Nothing in my life will ever compare."

The business owner revealed that contestants must wait up to six months after filming to discover the results, creating considerable anxiety. "Having all that waiting time, it was a lot of anxiety," she admitted. "I'm just happy with the outcome. I'm so over the moon. And I'm just so happy to have all these opportunities now, it's insane. My life has just really turned around."

Overcoming Personal Challenges to Reach Success

Karishma openly discussed the difficult period preceding her Apprentice journey. "The last three or four years, my life has been nothing short of a s*** storm," she confessed. "Everything that you can imagine going wrong went wrong, and it was like, 'How am I surviving this?'. I felt incredibly unlucky. Then I found this show. I'm just so eternally grateful for all of it."

She credited her challenging experiences with making her current success more meaningful. "Had I not hit rock bottom, it would have never been this unreal. I wouldn't have probably been this grateful if it had come easily to me."

Lord Sugar's Decision and Business Vision

Explaining his investment decision, Lord Sugar praised Karishma's entrepreneurial spirit. "As always, it was close competition in the final after two outstanding pitches by two brilliant young businesswomen," he said. "But Karishma really impressed me throughout the process and has proven why she deserves my investment. She's a proper grafter and she's got that entrepreneurial spirit that I always look for."

The business magnate expressed confidence in their partnership, noting: "The cosmetics industry is one I know a lot about, and I know our partnership will pave the way for a bright future."

Expansion Plans for Kishkin Beauty Brand

Karishma plans to use the investment to significantly expand her beauty business Kishkin, aiming to transform it into a major industry player. "It's going to be a brand that really made it, with young girls queuing up to buy it," she envisioned. "I feel like Kishkin needs its party. My brand needs to celebrate this. This is gonna put us on the map."

She detailed ambitious marketing plans: "We're going to pump so much money into marketing. I want everyone to know the brand. Not knowing me. Right now, people associate me with the brand, as the face of the brand. But I want to reverse those roles."

The entrepreneur outlined her retail aspirations: "Kishkin should be everywhere; duty free, billboards, Sephora, Harrods, Selfridges, all the big places. There should be a little Kishkin counter where all the girls can run in to buy their new skin care fix."

Family Pride and Cultural Background

Karishma paid tribute to her family, particularly her father who raised her and her sister as a single parent. "My mum and dad are the proudest people on Earth right now," she said. "They cannot stop speaking about me to everyone they meet, and their friends - who probably overlooked us at some point."

Referring to her Indian heritage and traditional family expectations, she revealed: "Being from the kind of community I'm from, they told my dad, 'There's no way you're going to be able to raise these two girls as a man, as a single parent.'"

With evident pride, she added: "My older sister is a doctor, and I'm the winner of The Apprentice. What more can a dad ask for?"

Respect for Fellow Finalist and Future Prospects

Karishma expressed admiration for fellow finalist Pascha Myhill, defending her place in the competition. "I have so much love for Pascha," she said. "I think she's incredibly inspiring and the most deserving. A lot of people were questioning her place in the final and I just won't have it. She deserves a seat at that table, 100%."

Looking ahead to her partnership with Lord Sugar, Karishma acknowledged both the pressure and opportunity. "I feel like I'm going to be calling Lord Sugar every other day, saying 'what do I do now? I don't know what I'm doing'," she joked. "Because when I was doing it by myself, I was going at my own pace. Now, there's a bit more pressure, because I have to really convince him that he made the right decision to have picked me."

She emphasized the value of Sugar's mentorship: "Now doors are gonna open, that we probably never would have even knocked on. And now they're gonna blow wide open because of Lord Sugar. It's all about his network and his advice and his expertise. He is the blueprint of business - I feel like I've got the godfather of business behind my shoulder now."

The Final Challenge and Judging Process

In the decisive final task, both candidates developed comprehensive brand and advertising campaigns for their business concepts. They presented their proposals to Lord Sugar alongside a panel of industry experts and former Apprentice figures including Margaret Mountford, Nick Hewer, Dr Leah Totton, Ricky Martin and Dean Franklin.

After two compelling business pitches, the decision came down to the final boardroom confrontation where both finalists made their cases directly to Lord Sugar. Karishma's combination of business acumen, personal resilience, and clear vision for her beauty brand ultimately secured the investment and the title of The Apprentice winner.
