Jules Neale Reveals Hypnotherapy Breakdown After Lachie Neale Marriage Scandal
Jules Neale's Hypnotherapy Breakdown After Marriage Scandal

Jules Neale has publicly shared intimate details about her intense therapeutic journey, revealing that a recent hypnotherapy session left her sobbing uncontrollably for a full hour as she processes the fallout from her scandalous marriage breakdown with husband Lachie Neale.

Moving Back to Perth Amidst Personal Turmoil

The footy WAG has relocated to Perth in the wake of the couple's separation, taking their two young children, four-year-old Piper and one-year-old Freddie, with her. The Neales' marriage unraveled last November after Jules posted a stark message on Instagram accusing the Brisbane Lions star of betraying her in what she described as 'the most unimaginable way'.

Lachie Neale later confirmed the split during a press conference in January, acknowledging that his actions were responsible for the breakdown, amid widespread rumours of an affair with Jules' former friend, Tess Crosley. While the football player refrained from providing specific details, he openly admitted the couple had separated.

An Emotional Glimpse Into Recovery

On Tuesday evening, Jules offered her Instagram followers a raw and emotional window into her healing process by posting a candid video. 'Don't mind my appearance, I've just been crying for an hour straight because I did hypnotherapy,' she confessed to her audience.

'It was incredible. I just wanted to share it because I thought, like, if anyone's dealing with anything emotionally – any kind of trauma or anything that you go to normal talk therapy for, maybe try hypnotherapy as well, because I feel like that did a lot more for me in one session than talk therapy has before.'

She elaborated further, noting that the practice 'kind of delves a little bit deeper, I suppose. It was really incredible.'

Understanding Hypnotherapy's Role

According to the Hypnotherapy Council of Australia, the therapeutic practice involves 'using the state of hypnosis for therapeutical purposes'. The council explains on its website that 'Hypnosis is a naturally occurring state of concentration with physical and mental relaxation very similar to a daydream.'

'When the Hypnotic state is induced suggestions can be given to make improvements to thinking and behaviour, removing negative ideas to bring about positive changes in a calm relaxing way.'

The Perth-based hypnotherapy centre that Jules frequents offers services addressing a range of issues, including addiction to alcohol and tobacco, sleep disturbances, fear and trauma, weight loss challenges, and anxiety management.

Lachie Neale's Candid Reflections

Jules's personal revelation follows closely on the heels of Lachie Neale opening up about their separation in detail for the first time last week. The Brownlow Medal winner spoke candidly about the 'crazy' toll the scandal has exacted on him and his loved ones, expressing his astonishment at the intense media scrutiny he has faced.

'When it's your personal lives and your private matters, you probably don't think it's newsworthy,' he told Triple M radio's The Rush Hour with Dobbo & Elliott. 'In a sense, I get it, I'm the captain of a footy club and a public profile in a way, but it felt over the top.'

Neale described the recent period as 'pretty crazy there for a while', adding that 'it's great to have the footy back on, which has taken over the headlines.' He acknowledged the last few months have been 'challenging' but suggested there has been an unexpected silver lining to the personal upheaval.

'I think in a way it was a form of therapy to just go and train and look after myself,' he reflected. 'I didn't really drink at all or anything in that period, I felt like I really had to knuckle down and narrow my focus on my football and being there for my kids when I could. In a weird way, it helped my football.'

Future Uncertainties and Family Considerations

When questioned about the possibility of moving clubs to be closer to his children in Western Australia at the season's end, Lachie Neale admitted he must 'be real' about the situation. 'I’m always thinking about it, and what the future is going to look like,' he stated.

'It’s in the back of my mind, but I brush it aside, we’re only five weeks into the season, but I think in about three or four months from now, I’ll tap into that.' The 32-year-old athlete said he will evaluate whether living so far from his children is 'sustainable', expressing his belief that he can continue playing professionally until 2029.
