Love Island's Jessy Potts Discusses Joey Essex Breakup on All Stars
Love Island All Stars bombshell Jessy Potts has addressed her split from former partner Joey Essex in candid conversations within the ITV2 villa. The 27-year-old made a dramatic entrance during the heart rate challenge on February 9, causing a stir among contestants with her bold interactions.
Explosive Villa Debut and Private Chats
Jessy's arrival saw her planting kisses on Tommy and Scott while distributing neck kisses to other male Islanders. Her sultry black lace outfit reportedly sent several boys' heart rates soaring, much to the annoyance of some female contestants. Shortly after entering, she whisked American bombshell Zac away to the terrace for a private conversation, confessing "I love an American" as his partner Millie watched.
Revealing the Romance and Its Demise
During their chat, Jessy discussed her past romance with The Only Way Is Essex favourite Joey Essex, who became Love Island's inaugural celebrity bombshell during the show's eleventh series. Jessy arrived later that season with the power to couple up with any boy, choosing Joey. The duo remained together until fellow Islanders voted them off the programme.
Just two months after their 2024 summer series stint, the pair decided to go their separate ways. At the time, both released statements expressing mutual respect and hopes for friendship. Now, Jessy has shed more light on what led to their break-up, revealing to Zac they were simply "different people."
Post-Show Reality and Media Pressure
When Zac asked why the relationship ended, Jessy confessed: "It only lasted about a couple of months afterwards. It was just we're definitely different people. So then you leave here and it's like 'Oh s***'. It's a lot." She added that Joey's prior television experience meant he already had many people with opinions about him, which "just wasn't for me but that's ok."
Jessy described her original Love Island journey as relatively straightforward, stating she coupled up early and stayed in that pairing throughout. The contrast between villa life and reality ultimately proved challenging for their relationship.
Love Island All Stars continues to air Sunday to Fridays at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX, with Jessy's revelations adding another layer of drama to the already tense villa dynamics.
