Gordon Ramsay's £1m Aston Martin Valhalla Door Struggle in London
Gordon Ramsay's £1m Aston Martin Valhalla Door Struggle

Gordon Ramsay was seen flaunting his opulent lifestyle as he drove through London with his wife Tana in his newly acquired £1 million Aston Martin Valhalla on Monday. The 59-year-old celebrity chef, who recently launched a Netflix documentary, is among the first customers to receive the highly anticipated supercar after delivery delays, but he appeared to have difficulty mastering its features.

Door Dilemma at The Savoy Hotel

Upon arriving at the luxurious Savoy Hotel, Gordon encountered a challenge with the British car's handle-less dihedral door. Struggling to figure out how to open it, he turned to photographer and car enthusiast Freddie Atkins, who was filming the scene, and asked, 'Where's the manual?' With Tana waiting inside the vehicle, the chef fumbled with the door mechanisms, even resorting to knocking on the window to communicate with his wife before finally discovering the correct method.

After overcoming this awkward moment, Gordon graciously shook hands with Freddie and the hotel doormen, showcasing his polite demeanor despite the hiccup.

Technical Specifications of the Aston Martin Valhalla

Designed with input from F1 designer Adrian Newey, the Aston Martin Valhalla has been dubbed 'the son of the Valkyrie.' It features a V8 engine complemented by three electric motors, making it Aston Martin's inaugural hybrid model. The car boasts an impressive 1,064 horsepower and 811 lb-ft of torque, capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.5 seconds and reaching a top speed of 217 mph.

Family Dynamics and Wedding Fallout

This incident follows Gordon's recent revelations about his relationship with his new son-in-law, Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty. Adam married Gordon's eldest daughter Holly in December at Bath Abbey, but the ceremony was marred by a family dispute that led to Adam's mother, Caroline, being excluded from the event.

Rumours of a fallout emerged in November, with Caroline accusing the Ramsays of distancing Adam from his family. Gordon was also alleged to have used his father-of-the-bride speech to criticise both Caroline and Adam's father, Mark, who also missed the wedding.

However, Gordon has since expressed joy in gaining a son, noting that Adam now refers to him as 'dad.' In an interview on Gaby Roslin's Reasons To Be Joyful podcast, Gordon shared, 'He calls me dad. He messaged me and said "Hey dad, what have you got? Hey dad, are you around later?" And it's just like, "Oh my God". Incredible. And what a lovely couple. They are a dream for Tana and I.'

Reflecting on the wedding, Gordon joked about the emotional and financial aspects, mentioning the extensive flower arrangements and the heartfelt moment walking Holly down the aisle. He added, 'You know when you get excited and then you're just sort of nervous and you say "No". And then I walked into the bloody church and there's Adam absolutely bawling like he's just got out of the swimming pool.'

Gordon concluded by emphasising the positive outcome, stating, 'And I sort of got a new son as well, as opposed to saying goodbye to Holly. An amazing day.'
