ITV has unveiled a first look at Eve Myles as Detective Annie Cassidy in the upcoming psychological thriller 'Gone'. The six-part series, penned by 'The Long Shadow' screenwriter George Kay, promises to be a chilling mystery centered on the disappearance of Sarah Polly.
The drama follows Michael Polly (David Morrissey), a local headmaster who becomes the prime suspect when his wife vanishes. Detective Annie Cassidy, played by Myles, engages in a tense cat-and-mouse game with Polly as she seeks the truth. The synopsis hints at deeper themes of trauma, trust, and the legacy of elite institutions.
Myles expressed her excitement about the role, describing her character as intuitive and gutsy. Morrissey, who previously worked with Kay on 'The Long Shadow', also shared his enthusiasm for reuniting with the writer and collaborating with Myles and director Richard Laxton.
The cast includes Jennifer Macbeth, Clare Higgins, Nicholas Nunn, Oscar Batterham, Elliot Cowan, Rupert Evans, Jodie McNee, Billy Barratt, and Arthur Hughes. The series is partially inspired by the book 'To Hunt a Killer' by former detective Julie Mackay and ITV crime correspondent Robert Murphy, who serve as consultants.
'Gone' will premiere this spring on ITV and STV, and will be available for streaming on ITVX and STV Player.
