Dancing with the Stars Pros Bring Ballroom Flair to Fast Food Counter
Emma Slater and Alan Bersten, the real-life couple and Dancing with the Stars champions, swapped their dance shoes for aprons this week, clocking in for a special pre-Valentine's Day shift at the Raising Cane's Global Flagship Restaurant. The event unfolded on Tuesday in the bustling heart of Times Square, New York City, offering fans a unique glimpse into the duo's off-stage chemistry.
From Mirrorball Trophies to Chicken Fingers
Fresh from their successful run on the Dancing with the Stars: Live! tour, Slater and Bersten brought their energetic presence to the fast-food counter, serving up hand-battered, cooked-to-order Chicken Fingers to eager customers. During their stint behind the front counter, they fully embraced the Cane's experience, engaging with fans and even sharing a playful Lady and the Tramp-inspired moment with a crinkle-cut fry.
The couple was seen dancing on the counter and mingling with supporters in the designated Caniac Corner, adding a touch of theatrical flair to the casual dining setting. Between serving Box Combos and taking photos, Slater and Bersten took time to chat with media representatives, discussing topics ranging from life on tour to their upcoming Valentine's Day plans.
Romantic Revelations and Future Excitement
Alan Bersten expressed his enthusiasm for their Valentine's Day performance, stating, "I love that we get to dance together in front of a crowd on Valentine's Day this year. It feels really special. We even have a number together, which makes it even better." Emma Slater revealed their plans for a more intimate celebration, noting, "Nothing says Valentine's Day like watching us dance. We'll probably find a coffee shop, sit, chat and decompress. I'm romantic though. I already bought him chocolates."
The couple also shared their excitement for the recently announced DWTS Con, describing it as an immersive fan experience designed to recreate the magic of the ballroom through live panels, Q&A sessions, shows, and exclusive merchandise. Offstage, they enjoy exploring cities together while on tour, whether playing basketball, discovering local spots, or bonding over food.
Foodie Favorites and Brand Expansion
Both Slater and Bersten admitted to being self-proclaimed foodies, with Slater joking, "It's honestly killing me that Cane's is right here in front of me and I haven't eaten it yet!" Bersten humorously declared his preference for a full cup of Cane's dipping sauce, claiming the standard portions are insufficient for four Chicken Fingers. They agreed that their favorite menu item is the hand-battered, cooked-to-order Chicken Fingers, marinated for at least 24 hours and served fresh.
The duo praised Raising Cane's as an ideal Valentine's Day destination, citing its comfort food and welcoming atmosphere. Bersten remarked, "Cane's just feels friendly. It's the kind of place you can relax, enjoy great food and have fun together." This endorsement comes as Raising Cane's continues its rapid expansion, with plans to open nearly 100 new restaurants this year and soon surpass 1,000 locations globally.
Founded in 1996 by Todd Graves, the Chicken Finger brand is also making international strides, set to debut its first U.K. restaurant this year, further solidifying its position as one of the fastest-growing restaurant chains in the industry.
