Bruno Tonioli Departs Britain's Got Talent After Three Series
The popular ITV talent competition Britain's Got Talent has returned for its nineteenth series, but viewers will notice a significant change on the judging panel. Bruno Tonioli, the flamboyant former Strictly Come Dancing judge, has officially left the show after just three seasons. His departure marks the end of a brief but memorable tenure that began in 2023 when he replaced David Walliams.
Scheduling Conflicts with US Show Prompt Exit
Tonioli confirmed his exit last September, attributing the decision to unavoidable scheduling conflicts with his commitments to the American talent show Dancing With The Stars, where he also serves as a judge. In a heartfelt statement, Tonioli expressed his regret at having to step down, praising the incredible talent he witnessed during his time on BGT.
"After three incredible series, I've sadly had to walk away from a job which has opened my eyes to so much incredible talent," Tonioli said. "Whilst I look forward to filming a new series of Dancing with the Stars in the US, I will miss the chaos and joy that BGT brings, as well as all the wonderful people I've had the privilege of working with."
The production team behind Britain's Got Talent responded warmly to the news, thanking Tonioli for his "SEN-SA-TION-AL" contributions over the past three series and wishing him well in his future endeavours.
KSI Steps Up as Permanent Replacement Judge
Filling the vacant seat on the judging panel is the multi-talented YouTuber, boxer, and rapper KSI, who previously served as a guest judge during the show's eighteenth season. ITV executives noted that KSI proved to be a huge hit with audiences, bringing an infectious energy and enthusiasm that resonated strongly with viewers.
KSI expressed his excitement about joining the BGT team permanently, stating: "I'm so grateful and happy to be a part of the Britain's Got Talent team for another season. I had such a good time last year and I can't wait to see some more top talent. I'm full of energy, ready to go and can't wait to make this the most entertaining BGT season ever!"
The new series of Britain's Got Talent, featuring hosts Ant and Dec alongside judges Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden, and the newly appointed KSI, premiered on Saturday, February 21, 2026, on ITV1, ITVX, and STV.
