David Beckham's Children Inquire About Privileges Following His Knighthood
Football legend David Beckham has disclosed the humorous and unexpected response from his children upon learning about his prestigious knighthood. The former England captain, aged fifty, received this distinguished honour from King Charles during a formal investiture ceremony held at Windsor Castle in November 2025.
This recognition came after Beckham was prominently featured in the King's Birthday Honours list earlier that same year. The ceremony saw Beckham accompanied by his wife, fashion designer Victoria Beckham, along with his parents, Sandra and Ted, who shared in the momentous occasion.
Family Celebrations and Notable Absence
Following the investiture, Beckham celebrated with his three younger children: Romeo, aged twenty-three, Cruz, aged twenty-one, and Harper, aged fourteen. However, his eldest son, Brooklyn, twenty-seven, was conspicuously absent from the festivities.
Brooklyn had publicly confirmed his estrangement from the family in a startling social media statement released in January 2026, citing prioritisation of "Brand Beckham" over personal relationships. Despite this, David and Victoria recently extended birthday wishes to Brooklyn via Instagram, sharing nostalgic childhood photos and emphasising their enduring love for him.
Children's Queries About Knightly Privileges
In a candid interview with TalkSPORT, Beckham recounted the amusing conversation with his children regarding his new status as a knight of the realm. He shared with hosts Andy Goldstein and Darren Bent that his offspring directly questioned whether they would benefit from any additional privileges due to his knighthood.
"My kids turned around to me and said, 'Dad, do we get any privileges, like, any more?'" Beckham revealed. He responded with a touch of humour, stating, "I was like, 'well, apart from the ones that you've already got, absolutely not.'" This exchange highlights the down-to-earth family dynamics amidst their high-profile lifestyle.
Support for Children's Career Endeavours
During the interview, Beckham also expressed immense pride in his son Cruz's burgeoning music career, noting his dedication and hard work. Cruz has recently embarked on a UK tour with his band, The Breakers, receiving praise from critics such as The Independent's Roisin O'Connor, who commended him as "an adept guitar player" with "a genuine enthusiasm for music."
Meanwhile, Romeo has explored catwalk modelling, and teenage Harper is reportedly preparing to launch her own beauty brand, showcasing the diverse talents within the Beckham family.
This revelation offers a glimpse into the personal side of one of Britain's most iconic families, blending royal honours with everyday parental interactions and career support.
