David Beckham and his sons have paid touching tributes to the women in their lives in honour of International Women's Day on 8 March. The former footballer and his family took to social media to express their gratitude and admiration for the strong females who inspire them daily.
David Beckham's Heartfelt Homage
David Beckham posted a series of images and messages dedicated to the "strong women" in his life. He shared photos of his wife Victoria, his mother Sandra, and his daughter Harper, accompanied by heartfelt captions. In one post, he featured Victoria, 51, posing alongside 14-year-old Harper, writing: "So grateful to the strong women in my life x." Another snapshot showed Harper as a young child, with David praising Victoria's parenting skills: "Bringing up strong, beautiful inside and out women."
He also included a holiday photo of his mother Sandra enjoying a cocktail, simply stating: "Thank you mum." Additional images highlighted businesswoman Victoria reviewing designs and a picture of Victoria with her mother Jackie Adams and David's mother Sandra. David extended his tribute to his work with Unicef, sharing: "This International Women's Day, I'm thinking of all the inspiring young women and girls I've met around the world with @unicef who are driving change in their communities." He emphasised the importance of empowering girls, adding: "Today and every day we must protect opportunities for girls to thrive and succeed. The future is brighter when every girl is empowered to reach their full potential."
Romeo and Cruz Join the Celebration
Romeo Beckham marked the occasion by posting a photo of himself picking up his model girlfriend Kim Turnbull, with her hanging around his neck. He captioned it: "Happy women's day to my love, love ya." He also shared throwback images of his mother Victoria and sister Harper. Similarly, Cruz Beckham participated by posting a teenage photo of Victoria and a picture of himself kissing his girlfriend Jackie Apostel. Another childhood photo featured him and Harper, the latter grinning with missing front teeth.
Family Dynamics and Recent Events
These tributes come shortly after the Beckham family attended Paris Fashion Week to support Victoria's Fall/Winter collection showcase on 6 March. David, Romeo, Cruz, Jackie Apostel, and Harper were all present, but notably absent was their estranged son Brooklyn. Despite ongoing tensions with Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz, David and Victoria extended an olive branch on Brooklyn's 27th birthday on 4 March, posting photos and birthday wishes on social media.
David wrote: "27 today. Happy Birthday Bust. We love you x," while Victoria said: "Happy Birthday Brooklyn. We love you so much." However, Brooklyn had previously requested in a letter last summer that his parents refrain from tagging or referencing him on social media, leading him to block their accounts. He did not publicly acknowledge their posts, instead reposting a video from Nicola Peltz, who celebrated him with doughnuts and balloons, captioning it with affectionate messages.
Cruz also briefly addressed Brooklyn's birthday when asked, replying "Happy Birthday" and expressing hope to mend their troubled relationship. The family's show of support on International Women's Day highlights their commitment to honouring women amidst personal challenges.
