A Good Girl's Guide to Murder series 2 teased with 'new twists' for book fans

The second series of BBC's A Good Girl's Guide to Murder has been teased by cast and creator Holly Jackson, promising 'new twists' for fans of the books. The show, based on Jackson's bestselling novels, returns on 27 May 2026 on BBC, Netflix, and ZDFneo.

Series two opens dramatically with the disappearance of Jamie (Eden H Davies), brother of Connor (Jude Morgan-Collie). Pip Fitz-Amobi (Emma Myers) is reluctant to investigate due to the fallout from the Andie Bell case, but finds herself racing against time to find him alive. The mystery takes Pip to unexpected places as she grapples with the concept of justice, straying further from her 'good girl' persona.

Pip's friendship with Cara Ward (Asha Banks) is strained after Pip revealed the truth about Cara's father Elliot in a podcast. Creator Holly Jackson noted that Pip's tunnel vision and lack of nuance affected their relationship. Meanwhile, Pip's ongoing battle with Max Hastings (Henry Ashton) intensifies as his trial approaches, with Pip drawn to him despite her hatred, creating a 'weird dynamic'.

Pip's relationship with Ravi (Zain Iqbal) also faces challenges as she misses his memorial speech for his brother Sal, prioritising Max over him. Jackson described the strain as Pip lies and pulls away, knowing she will only hurt him. Filming highlights included a car chase scene with stunt work.
