Reality television stars Amanda and Clive Owen have candidly shared details of a challenging week that included getting dangerously lost on the misty Yorkshire moors. The former couple, who continue to work together and co-parent their nine children despite separating in 2022, described the incident as one of their "low lows" in a recent Instagram video update.
Moorland Misadventure in Thick Mist
In the heartfelt social media post, Clive Owen revealed that "the worst moment has been getting lost. On the moor. In the mist." Amanda, known affectionately as the Yorkshire Shepherdess, agreed emphatically, stating "It was bad, wasn't it?" and humorously questioning how she managed to get lost "on the moor, in the mist, with him."
The pair expressed relief at eventually finding their way, with Clive remarking "thank God we found our way. We could have been there yet. Can you imagine?" The video was captioned with the telling phrase "High highs and low lows. But we're here to tell the tale," suggesting the week had been emotionally turbulent.
A Week of Contrasting Emotions
Amanda characterized their recent experiences as "a funny old week" filled with both positive achievements and difficult moments. "We've had some high points and low points. I think, rollercoaster," she explained to their substantial fanbase. Clive concurred, noting they had accomplished "some very positive good stuff" alongside "a few weird moments."
The Owens have maintained their professional partnership and family unity following their separation, continuing to document their farming life for television audiences. Their authenticity has been a hallmark of their popularity since first appearing on Channel 4's Our Yorkshire Farm in 2018.
Continued Television Success and Family Life
Following the conclusion of Our Yorkshire Farm, which chronicled life at their remote Ravenseat farm in Upper Swaledale with children Raven, Reuben, Miles, Edith, Violet, Sidney, Annas, Clementine, and Nancy, Channel 4 commissioned a new series titled Our Farm Next Door.
This current program follows the family as they undertake the restoration of a derelict building near their existing property. Amanda promoted the show in her Instagram message, encouraging viewers to tune in for "authentic, relatable, joyful, hopeful TV with a dash of jeopardy, frequent doses of comedic value and unabashed, genuinely real people and stories."
The Owens' willingness to share both triumphs and struggles, including this recent moorland mishap, continues to endear them to audiences who appreciate their genuine approach to documenting rural life and family dynamics amidst personal changes.
