Adam Peaty's Heartfelt Tribute to Coach Amid Family Tensions
Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty has shared a touching tribute to his former coach, Melanie Marshall, while seemingly ignoring cryptic social media posts from his mother, Caroline Peaty, about dark times. The 31-year-old athlete, who separated from Marshall after their 15-year partnership following the 2024 Paris Olympics, posted a heartfelt message praising her influence on his life and career.
Recreated Image and Praise for Coach
Peaty recreated an image from a decade ago with Marshall, sharing it on social media with the caption: "February ‘26 x February ‘16. You shaped the man I am today and it was an honour to be back with you for two weeks @melmarshallmassive." He added, "Great to see you thriving in what you do best! 15+ Years goes pretty fast but I’ll never forget the incredible memories." This tribute follows his previous praise for Marshall in his wedding speech to Holly Ramsay at the end of last year.
Mother's Cryptic Post and Family Rift
Meanwhile, Caroline Peaty posted a tranquil sunset image with the words: "You're living proof that you can go through the darkest times and still come out kind, radiant, real and full of love." This comes amid reports of a family rift, including her being uninvited from Adam's wedding at Bath Abbey in December 2025. Tensions reportedly brewed after Holly Ramsay did not invite Caroline to her hen do, with the Peaty family previously describing Gordon Ramsay as a "big bully" who "pushed them too far."
Gordon Ramsay's Response to Bullying Claims
TV chef Gordon Ramsay furiously denied these claims, telling The Sun they were "absolute nonsense." He highlighted that he sent a personal driver to collect Caroline and her husband Mark for Adam and Holly's engagement party, where he and his wife Tana were also guests. Ramsay stated, "I'm certainly not a bully. I think when you send personal chauffeur cars up to Nottingham to invite this incredible family down to enjoy their party – by the way Holly and Adam were hosting that party, Caroline and Mark, Tana and I were guests – appalling to even suggest there was any bullying. That’s absolute nonsense." He admitted there was "a lot of friction" before anything became public and expressed sadness over what he called "that barrage of negativity that was self-propelled by them."
The situation underscores the ongoing personal challenges for Adam Peaty as he navigates his professional accolades and family dynamics, with his tribute to coach Melanie Marshall highlighting the positive influences in his life amidst reported turmoil.
