Personal trainer and bikini bodybuilder Lesley Maxwell, a grandmother in her mid-60s, continues to impress fans with her youthful appearance as she poses in skin-tight leggings and a sports bra during a break from her workout.
Gym enthusiast shares her passion
Lesley, who works as a personal trainer, spends most of her time in swimwear and exercise gear. On Instagram, she shared an image from her workout, captioning it: "Beach, bikinis, clients and weights… just another day in my world. I'm so lucky to be doing what I love."
More than 900 of her fans liked the post, with many commenting on her physique. One wrote: "Such a fantastic body. Marvellous." Another said: "A true inspiration and motivator. Bravo." A third added: "Lucky, but well deserved with your hard work and dedication! Looking fantastic as always! Keep it cooking."
Challenging ageing stereotypes
Lesley also wants to dispel the stereotype that older people should cover up or dress conservatively. In another post, she left her home in Melbourne, Australia, to visit the beach, where she posed in a navy blue two-piece that highlighted her toned arms and washboard abs.
She captioned that image: "Of course I took a little trip to the beach today. I think I'll always love wearing bikinis. I hope you don't mind." The post drew more than 350 likes.
Tips for staying fit and confident
Lesley has shared advice on staying youthful, championing weight training, core and grip strength to help people feel strong as they age. She goes to the gym a few times a week and stresses the importance of an active lifestyle, while also recommending avoiding overly processed junk food and takeaways.
She believes confidence is a key strength that comes with age, saying: "I definitely think women come into their own as we become older."
