Television personality Kerry Katona has provided a candid health update, admitting her recovery from recent corrective breast surgery has proven to be a difficult journey. The 45-year-old former Atomic Kitten star underwent the procedure earlier this month after scar tissue from her fourth boob job ruptured.
A Challenging Recovery Process
In her new! magazine column, Kerry detailed the physical struggles she's facing post-surgery. "I've slowed down loads since my breast surgery but it's not easy, I feel lazy sat at home!" she confessed. The reality star explained that her body is currently restricting her movements, with specific medical instructions adding to the challenge. She's not permitted to wear a bra for six weeks and cannot lie on her side while sleeping.
Kerry expressed particular frustration about her sleeping position, stating: "I'm very aware that the implant went through scar tissue, so I'm sleeping on my back, which is frustrating!" The surgery's impact has extended to everyday activities, with the star noting it's even affecting the muscles she uses while driving. After hurting herself during house tidying, she acknowledged she must remember to be more careful during this sensitive recovery period.
The Incident That Led to Corrective Surgery
The need for this corrective procedure stemmed from complications following her fourth breast augmentation earlier this year. The stitches ruptured during an intimate moment with her 33-year-old boyfriend, personal trainer Paolo Margaglione. Writing previously in her column, Kerry explained: "I had ruptured the tissue after having breast implants because I didn't rest enough after having the implants put in in the first place."
Despite the physical discomfort, Kerry has found unwavering support from her partner Paolo. She praised him effusively, saying: "Paolo has been so supportive and amazing the entire journey through with my surgery and recovery. I really do love that man!" The couple found love on the Channel 4 dating series Celebs Go Dating, which began filming in April, and have reportedly moved in together just two months after meeting.
A Newfound Happiness
Despite her current health challenges, Kerry appears to be in a positive place emotionally. The star, who has experienced two divorces and a turbulent love life, introduced Paolo to her 18-year-old daughter Heidi on the dating show. She previously boasted about their "unbelievable" sex life and now describes feeling happier than ever.
"I am very happy. I don't think I have felt like this in my life," she shared. When faced with questions about their 12-year age gap during an Instagram Q&A in September, Kerry responded philosophically: "No, it doesn't bother me anymore, you're only as old as the man you're feeling." She also firmly dismissed suggestions that Paolo was with her for fame, describing him as incredibly supportive throughout her health struggles.
