JLS's Aston Merrygold Recovering After Major Surgery

JLS singer Aston Merrygold has shared a positive health update with fans after undergoing major surgery for a serious injury. The 37-year-old pop star posted a cheerful family picture on Instagram this Friday, confirming the procedure was successful and he is now resting at home.

Family Support During Recovery

Aston Merrygold appeared in high spirits alongside his wife, Sarah-Louise, 36, and their three children in the post-operative snapshot. The couple's sons, Grayson Jax, seven, and Macaulay Shay, four, and their 19-month-old daughter, Riley Skye, joined their father as he began his recovery journey. "Done, done & done!" Aston penned alongside the image. "Thankfully, everything went to plan in surgery."

He expressed immense gratitude to the medical team, writing: "Shout out to the incredible Dr’s, nurses and staff at the hospital!! I’m home with my favourites so the rest and recovery starts now." His wife showed her support in the comments, simply stating, "Love you so much."

Injury Announcement and Tour Determination

The singer first revealed the injury to fans last week in a TikTok video, explaining he had "a bit of an accident" that required surgical intervention. He was seen using a pair of crutches, which he humorously described as "really cool." Further updates showed him in a hospital gown prior to the operation, captioning the photos "Here we go" alongside relevant emojis.

Despite the significant injury, Aston was determined not to disappoint fans on JLS's ongoing comeback tour. He reportedly told the audience at the Hydro Arena in Glasgow that his team had advised postponing, but he felt there was "no way" he could cancel. He praised his bandmates—Oritsé Williams, 38, JB Gill, 38, and Marvin Humes, 40—for making major changes to the show to accommodate his condition.

Bandmates and Well-Wishes

Support flooded in from his fellow JLS members and their families. Bandmate Marvin Humes wrote: "Love you bro! Everything is going to be better and stronger." Marvin's wife, Rochelle Humes, added: "You’ve got this ❤️ love you very much."

Before taking the stage recently, Aston shared playful images on Instagram, including a bedazzled denim jacket with the phrase "backflips on hold" and a picture of his booted leg elevated on a pillow. The Noughties boy band, who reunited for a UK tour after 12 years pursuing solo projects, have shown a united front throughout this personal challenge for Aston.

The singer's focus is now firmly on his rehabilitation at home, surrounded by his family, as he works towards a full recovery.
