Doritos Urgent Recall: Chilli Heatwave Bags May Contain Milk

Doritos has issued an urgent recall of a batch of its Chilli Heatwave crisps after some packs were mistakenly filled with Tangy Cheese crisps, which contain milk. The Food Standards Agency (FSA) flagged the error as a potential health risk for people with milk allergies or intolerances.

What Happened

PepsiCo, the owner of Doritos, recalled the 140g packs with batch code GBC 209 184C and a best before date of December 5, 2026. Some of these bags contained Tangy Cheese crisps instead of Chilli Heatwave, meaning milk—an undeclared allergen—is present in the product. The FSA stated: "This product contains milk, making it a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents."

Health Risks and Consumer Advice

Milk allergies are among the most common childhood allergies, and the FSA urged customers not to consume the affected product. Anyone who has purchased the recalled crisps can return them to the store for a full refund. PepsiCo has also issued a point-of-sale notice to inform customers about the recall.
