Three-Ingredient Scone Recipe from Australia’s Greatest Bake Off Contestant Goes Viral

A simple scone recipe requiring only three ingredients has captured attention online, following the trend of minimalist baking. The method, demonstrated by Monique Bowley, who placed fourth in Australia’s Greatest Bake Off, uses self-raising flour, cream, and lemonade.

To make the scones, combine four cups of self-raising flour, 300ml of cream, and one can of lemonade in a mixing bowl. Instead of a wooden spoon, the video instructs using a knife to stir the mixture until it forms a dough-like consistency.

Lightly knead the dough on a floured surface, then cut into circles using a scone cutter or a cup. Place the rounds close together on a lined baking tray and bake at 200 degrees Celsius for 15 minutes. The result is 12 scones ready to be served with jam and cream.

This recipe follows the popularity of other three-ingredient creations, such as Japanese souffle cheesecake made with eggs, chocolate, and cream cheese, and banana pancakes using banana, eggs, and cinnamon. The trend highlights the appeal of simple, time-saving baking methods.
