A 74-year-old grandmother has revealed how a dietary overhaul and regular exercise have made her feel decades younger. The septuagenarian, who prefers not to be named, says she is in the best shape of her life and feels more like 40.
The woman, a former NHS clinical leader, struggled with stress and depression in her 40s and 50s, leading to time off work. After a breakdown, she sought help and began swimming and walking. She later joined a gym and learned resistance training to protect against frailty.
In 2022, she hired a personal trainer, Janine Worthington, and started eating 'clean'—avoiding processed food and alcohol from Monday to Thursday. She credits these changes with boosting her energy, sleep, and weight management.
Now a grandmother, she says the desire to stay healthy for long flights to see family in the US motivated her. She also wrote a book, 'Journey to Chocolate', about finding balance. Her husband, Iain, adopted similar habits and feels better too.
She encourages others to make changes, saying: 'It's never too late.' She now socialises with younger women who share her enthusiasm for life.
