A woman who was clinically deceased for just over half a minute has described receiving a startling glimpse into humanity's potential future, alongside revelations about her own soul's journey through multiple planetary existences. Angela Harris, a teacher and mother of two young children at the time, underwent a profound near-death experience during a routine medical examination in 2015 that fundamentally altered her perception of reality.
A Routine Test Turns Extraordinary
Just eighteen minutes into what should have been a standard tilt-table test – a procedure used to diagnose unexplained fainting episodes – Harris began experiencing severe seizures. She describes being forcefully "ejected" from her physical body, entering what she perceived as another realm of existence entirely. Although medical records indicate her heart stopped for precisely thirty-two seconds, Harris claims her consciousness embarked on a journey that felt immeasurably longer and more significant.
The Afterlife Encounter
In a cloud-like environment she interprets as the afterlife, Harris was greeted by the souls of deceased loved ones from her current earthly life, as well as from what she believes were previous incarnations. This welcoming committee represented just the beginning of her extraordinary journey. Harris explains that she came to understand how souls deliberately plan their entire earthly lives – including challenging experiences involving pain and personal trauma – as part of a grander learning process for spiritual growth.
"We plan our lives, and this is very hard to hear for a lot of people," Harris revealed during an interview last year, emphasising that every soul participates in this pre-birth planning. She believes this occurs because all consciousness is fundamentally connected as part of a singular entity, often referred to by near-death experiencers as Source or God.
Visions of Other Worlds and Selves
The experience did not conclude in this afterlife realm. Harris claims her consciousness was transported to two distinct alien planets, where she witnessed parallel versions of herself living completely different existences. In one vision, she observed herself as a being with distinctive blue skin. In another, she appeared with a mantis-like physical form, complete with a rusty red exoskeleton, large round dark eyes, and prominent antennae.
"I'm seeing myself living another life, a different life, in a different space as what a lot of people here would define as an alien, but is really just another soul on another planet doing the same things I'm doing here as a human," Harris explained of these startling visions. She interpreted these experiences as evidence that her soul had consciously chosen multiple lifetimes across different worlds to facilitate learning and evolution.
A Glimpse Into Earth's Future
Perhaps most remarkably, Harris asserts that her consciousness accessed an undated point in Earth's future. She describes a world where devastating wars have significantly reduced the global population, leading humanity to abandon globally connected societies in favour of more localised, self-sufficient communities.
"I was thinking about the future and my mind went in that direction, and I saw a future where we returned to a much more non-agrarian society," Harris recounted. "There were wars that happened. We lost a lot of population, and at this particular moment, when I was accessing. We had moved back to living in more localised cities."
In this vision, technology still existed but was employed more harmoniously, with humanity having moved beyond the divisions and large-scale migrations that Harris believes currently contribute to global conflict. Americans in particular were focused on maintaining self-sufficient agricultural systems.
Guided Through the Experience
Throughout this journey, Harris says she was accompanied and guided by a benevolent entity named Melanie, who appeared as a woman wearing a cream-coloured robe and holding a book. Communication occurred telepathically, with Harris describing the interaction as feeling like a conversation between lifelong friends. Melanie served as her sole guide, helping her transition between different phases of the experience.
Despite the absence of direct communication with a supreme deity, Harris describes the overall sensation as one of pure love, total peace, and complete release from all physical and emotional pain. She felt she was returning to her "true self" in a place that felt like home.
Reluctant Return to Earth
Like many who report near-death experiences, Harris recalled an intense reluctance to return to her physical body, finding the afterlife realm overwhelmingly beautiful and peaceful by comparison. When doctors successfully restarted her heart, she described the sensation of returning to earthly existence as feeling "heavy, hot, gross, and empty."
In the decade since her experience, Harris says it has transformed her into a more compassionate and intuitively aware person.
