Controversial Influencer's Health Crisis: From NHS Nose Job Scandal to Lifesaving Dependency

Carla Bellucci, the 44-year-old mother-of-four who gained notoriety as 'Britain's most hated woman' after admitting she faked depression to obtain a free nose job through the National Health Service, has revealed she now relies on that same institution to keep her alive following a devastating health diagnosis.

Life-Altering Diagnosis of Incurable Lung Condition

In an exclusive interview, Bellucci disclosed she has been diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), a progressive and incurable group of lung conditions that claims approximately 30,000 lives annually across the United Kingdom. The diagnosis came last week after two years of persistent health struggles.

"It was a shock and it still is," Bellucci confessed regarding her reaction to the medical news. "I am gutted but also relieved to know because I've been so sick on and off for two years—it's a relief that it can now start to be controlled."

Irony of NHS Dependency After Previous Controversy

The outspoken influencer, who lives in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, acknowledged the bitter irony of her current situation, noting she now depends on NHS medications to maintain her health. "I am somewhat ironically relying on the NHS to keep me alive with medication," she stated, explaining she will require special steroid inhalers for the remainder of her life alongside emergency medicines to prevent severe attacks.

COPD, which affects approximately 1.4 million people in Britain, causes lung damage and narrowed airways leading to breathlessness. While smoking represents the primary cause, Bellucci emphasized she belongs to the minority who develop the condition without cigarette use, though she has suffered from severe asthma, chest infections, and pneumonia episodes throughout the past two years.

From Public Scandal to Health Advocacy

Bellucci first entered public consciousness in 2019 when she appeared on This Morning to reveal her deception regarding mental health to secure cosmetic surgery through the NHS. Regarding her current health battle, she remarked on "how things can turn," but strongly rejected suggestions of karma, labeling those who think that way as "sickos."

"I don't have to justify my past actions to anyone online," she asserted, while simultaneously expressing a newfound perspective on life's value. "I'm not going to worry about anything that's not necessary because health is wealth," she declared, adding her intention to travel more extensively than before.

Determined Response and Awareness Campaign

Despite the challenging diagnosis, Bellucci adopted a determined outlook, stating: "You get one life and I'm going to soak up every minute. It makes you realise not to take life for granted because anything can happen."

She expressed gratitude for her family support system, noting: "I'm strong and determined. I am so blessed because I have four wonderful kids and a fantastic husband and an amazing life. I feel so lucky to be alive and there are so many people worse off."

Looking forward, Bellucci plans to leverage her platform to educate others about COPD, particularly targeting smokers and vapers. "I would quit. It's not worth it," she advised, while acknowledging her frustration as a non-smoker with the condition. "I'm a little jarred off because I don't smoke and still have this condition but it is what it is."

Concluding with characteristic defiance, she proclaimed: "It will take more than COPD to take down the Bellucci," signaling her resolve to confront the health challenge while raising awareness about this common but often misunderstood respiratory disease.
