Yungblud Pulls Out of Festival to Focus on Mental Health After Onstage Breakdown
Yungblud Cancels Festival for Mental Health After Breakdown

Yungblud has pulled out of the Cowboys Music Festival in Calgary, Canada, scheduled for this weekend, citing the need to focus on his mental health after a recent emotional onstage breakdown. The 28-year-old singer, whose real name is Dominic Harrison, issued a statement expressing his devastation at disappointing fans but emphasizing his commitment to recovery.

Statement from Yungblud

In his statement, Yungblud said: "To all my family in Canada I apologise for not being there with you all this weekend - I'm currently in a place where I'm working on myself and taking time off at home in the UK. I'm taking this extremely seriously and facing head on what's going on for the good of the long term. I will never take any of this for granted and I will see you all soon. I love you all."

Management and Festival Response

His management added: "Reluctantly we have made the decision as a team to pull YUNGBLUD from The Cowboys Music Festival in Calgary this Sunday. We are sorry for any disappointment this may cause, these are not decisions we take lightly. All other scheduled shows will go ahead as planned." The festival organizers also expressed support, saying: "Our thoughts are with Dom (YUNGBLUD). We are sending him all our love and support, and wish him nothing but the very best during this time. We want him to know and feel the true love he has here in Canada."

Fan Reactions

Fans quickly sent well wishes. One commented: "Dom, hope you'll get the rest you needed. I'm grateful that you take care of yourself. Love you so much!" Another added: "Please take care of yourself eat rest and come back stronger baby. Sad but love you more."

Previous Emotional Breakdown

The cancellation comes days after Yungblud broke down in tears on stage during his Bludfest festival in Czechia. A viral clip showed him sobbing during his set. He later revealed that 20 minutes after the show, he released the exhaustion and pressure of being called an "industry plant." He said: "Lately, I have felt so disconnected from everything. I have been trying my best to wake up every day. I have felt in pain a lot and I don’t know why for a long time. But every time I find your faces, every time I find your eyes, every time I look at you, I know that I belong somewhere. And to feel safe from the outside world is something that I can never thank you enough for. And all I wanna say is that this is for your family. If you are ever scared, if you are ever frightened, if you are ever threatened, we will be there. I will f***ing be there for you."

Ongoing Struggles

The star has often been open about his mental health struggles. In March, he told the Mirror about his well-documented issues with life in the spotlight as a young artist. He said: "It’s taken me 10 years to figure out who I am…including six years of the label and the press ripping me to shreds. It impacted me a lot - I had issues with alcohol and food. Dark relationships."
