In an astonishing account that challenges medical understanding, a UK man has revealed how he 'died twice' during a massive cardiac arrest and was guided back to life by a mysterious voice from what he believes was heaven.
Paul Sharman, 57, suffered a sudden and catastrophic heart attack at his home in Northamptonshire. Paramedics fought to keep him alive during the frantic ambulance journey to hospital, where he technically died not once, but twice on the operating table.
'I was floating above my body,' Paul recalls of his experience. 'I could see everything happening below me - the doctors, the machines, my own lifeless form. There was no pain, just incredible peace.'
But the most miraculous part was yet to come. As medical staff battled to restart his heart for the second time, Paul heard a clear, commanding voice that seemed to come from everywhere at once.
'The voice simply said: "Go back, it's not your time,"' Paul explains. 'It wasn't threatening, but it was firm and full of authority. I felt myself being drawn back into my body, and then everything went black.'
Miraculously, Paul's heart started beating again moments later. Doctors who had been preparing for the worst were stunned by his sudden recovery.
The Medical Miracle
Cardiologists at the hospital confirmed that Paul had experienced what medicine terms 'clinical death' on two separate occasions during the procedure. His survival against such overwhelming odds has been described as nothing short of miraculous by the medical team.
Dr Emma Carter, the lead cardiologist on the case, stated: 'We had essentially lost Mr Sharman twice. The statistics for surviving this type of massive cardiac event are extremely poor. His recovery is quite extraordinary.'
Life After Death
Since his recovery, Paul says he's been given a completely new perspective on life. 'I'm not afraid of death anymore,' he says. 'I know there's something beautiful waiting for us. That experience was a gift - it's changed how I live every single day.'
His story adds to the growing body of near-death experience accounts that continue to baffle scientists and medical professionals worldwide. While sceptics offer scientific explanations involving brain chemistry and oxygen deprivation, those who've lived through such experiences remain convinced of their spiritual nature.
Paul concludes: 'I was given a second chance for a reason. Now I make every moment count.'
