Scottish actress Karen Gillan has declared her daughter's first year of life the most rewarding of her career, sharing a touching tribute on social media to mark the milestone.

The Inverness-born star, known for her roles in numerous Hollywood blockbusters, posted an emotional message celebrating her daughter Clementine's first birthday. Karen Gillan shared the intimate family moment with her followers, posing alongside her little girl.
She wrote: 'Happy first birthday to my little Clementine. I had the best year of my life introducing this wee lassie to the world and now it's time to get back to work.'
