Holly Hagan's emotional update after sister's death

Former Geordie Shore personality Holly Hagan has shared an emotional update with her followers, expressing gratitude for their support while navigating the complex emotions of grief and pregnancy simultaneously.

A Time of Mixed Emotions

The 33-year-old reality television star took to her Instagram Story on Tuesday to address her fans directly, acknowledging the challenging period she's been facing. Holly revealed she's expecting her second child with husband Jacob Blyth, news that comes just four weeks after the tragic death of her half-sister Darci at only 19 years old.

In a heartfelt video message, Holly described the past few months as an "emotional whirlwind" and admitted to experiencing moments where she "breaks down." She emphasised that while she's working hard to remain strong, the process has been incredibly difficult.

Navigating Grief and New Life

The television personality announced her pregnancy on Sunday with a touching Instagram video that included poignant messages she had previously sent to her sister about the pregnancy. She captioned the post: "Our little rainbow amongst the storm. Baby Blyth no2 coming May 2026."

Holly and Jacob, who married in 2022, are already parents to two-year-old son Alpha-Jax, born in June 2023. The couple's growing family brings both joy and complexity as Holly processes her recent loss.

The circumstances surrounding Darci's death were particularly distressing. Police confirmed that the 19-year-old had fallen "seriously ill" when she was believed to have taken drugs. Holly previously described how her family had been "traumatized in every sense of the word" by the tragedy.

Finding Strength in Vulnerability

In her recent social media updates, Holly has been remarkably open about her grieving process. She shared that she often finds evenings particularly challenging, describing feeling "weighted by lead" and that "everything is feeling like it's ten times harder to do."

Despite her pain, Holly continues to connect with her audience, stating: "I don't want all my posts to be depressing and make people cry but this is just where my life is at right now." She acknowledged the normalcy of her emotional breakdowns while maintaining her determination to stay strong for her family.

The reality star recently honoured her sister following her funeral, sharing a photograph of Darci's order of service on Instagram with the caption: "My sister, my forever friend. His auntie, his greatest gift. Now our guardian angel." She added: "I hope we did you proud today baby girl. We all miss and love you so much."
