Family Pays Tribute to Durham Boy, 14, Who Died After Farm Vehicle Overturned

The family of a 14-year-old boy who died after a collision on a farm in County Durham has paid tribute to him, describing him as a 'cheeky chappie' with an 'amazing work ethic'. Aaron Anderson sustained life-threatening injuries when a John Deere Gator overturned at a farm in Burnopfield on the evening of 21 December.

Aaron was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle, where he died on Boxing Day. Police said a 13-year-old boy also suffered serious injuries in the incident and was treated in hospital; he is now recovering at home.

In a statement, Aaron's family said: 'Aaron was a much-loved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him.' They added that he was 'always happiest working on farms and fixing trucks' and had already received two apprenticeship offers.
