Social News Reporter Alice Sjoberg visited Cotswolds Lavender farm near Broadway, Worcestershire, and shared her honest verdict. The 45-acre farm, first planted in 1999, has gained international fame for its purple blooms. During peak season (June 27 to August 5), entry costs £7.75 per adult and £3.50 for children aged 5–15.
Steep Entry Fee Initially Put Me Off
Alice admitted the price seemed high at first, but after exploring, she felt it was worth every penny. Despite grey weather, the views were spectacular. The farm features rows of lavender and patches of yellow wildflowers planted to recreate traditional meadows, as 97% of natural wildflower fields in the Cotswolds have been lost in the last century.
Bees and Skylarks Thrive in the Fields
Walking through, Alice heard buzzing bumblebees and saw butterflies. Endangered skylarks flew overhead, highlighting the fields' importance for nesting. She spent nearly an hour strolling the paths, admiring the sights and avoiding photobombing other visitors.
More Than Just Lavender
The farm also offers the Beechwood Trail, originally for kids but fun for adults. It includes winding bridges and a wall built from natural materials. Small rows display different lavender varieties, surprising Alice with their diversity. A café sells hot drinks, food, and ice cream, but she skipped it due to cold weather. Lavender-based products like soaps and lotions are available as souvenirs.
Alice concluded she was very impressed and plans to return next year. The farm closes for the season after August 5.
