Members of the Claremont Rambling Club recently enjoyed a day out in the Galloway Forest, where pleasant walking conditions replaced the previous heatwave. The club bus made a brief stop in Ayr before continuing to the picturesque conservation village of Barr.
Two circular routes through the forest
Upon arrival in Barr, the group split into two parties, each taking more or less circular routes through the forest. While there were some uphill stretches, neither walk was particularly difficult, and participants were rewarded with spectacular views.
Social hour at Flynn's Boatyard
The day concluded with a social hour in the continuing sunshine at Flynn's Boatyard in Girvan. For more information about the club, visit claremontramblers.co.uk or the Claremont Ramblers Facebook page.
