Mural Unveiled in Central Tehran

A shocking new mural depicting President Donald Trump, his wife Melania, and other family members lying in coffins was unveiled in central Tehran on Thursday. The artwork, bearing the motto "Blood for Blood," is the most personal in a series of state-produced murals targeting the U.S. president, set against the backdrop of the White House in Palestine Square.

Threats Against Trump Family

The mural openly threatens Trump's family with retribution for bombings that killed senior Iranian officials. On the same day, a separate billboard in Tehran's Vali-e-Asr Square displayed the question "Who's Next?" alongside an image of Trump, following the death of Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, whose name appears beneath the billboard.

Owj Arts and Media Organisation

According to Iran Wire, the Owj Arts and Media Organisation, which has long supported the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, erected some of the largest billboards in the region at Vali-e-Asr Square. The group has repeatedly displayed billboards condemning the peace process with the U.S. while backing Iran's regional, nuclear, and missile policies. Previously, Owj unveiled a banner in Enghelab Square that directly threatened Trump's life, featuring his image with the words "We will kill Trump" in Persian and English.

Context of Escalating Tensions

The murals emerge as Trump has claimed Iran would attempt to assassinate him. The display appeared after the U.S. reimposed a naval blockade on Iran and intensified airstrikes on Wednesday, measures responding to Tehran's attacks on vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. Reports also indicate that Trump drafted instructions for authorities in case of his murder, based on intelligence from Israel about a fresh Iranian plot to assassinate him, as revealed by The Wall Street Journal. Trump alluded to this intelligence during a NATO meeting in Ankara, Turkey.
