British rapper Professor Green has shared a distressing update with his followers, revealing that his young son was hospitalised following a serious accident while overseas.
Young Son's Hospital Dash
Professor Green, whose real name is Stephen Paul Manderson, took to Instagram on Wednesday to share that his four-year-old son, Slimane, had been rushed to hospital after what he described as a 'nasty accident abroad'. The 41-year-old posted a photograph showing the little boy with a bandaged head, explaining that Slimane had required stitches under general anaesthetic.
The concerned father captioned the emotional post: 'Long hard day. Bubba had an accident abroad and went under for stitches.' The image and message conveyed the strain of the difficult experience for both father and son.
Co-parenting Challenges Revealed
This worrying incident comes just weeks after the Read All About It hitmaker opened up emotionally about the difficulties of co-parenting following his split from fiancée Karima McAdams. The former couple parted ways in 2023 but have maintained an amicable relationship for their son's sake.
In a candid social media discussion last month, Professor Green didn't hold back when describing the emotional toll of shared parenting arrangements. 'Co-parenting really sucks,' he stated bluntly. 'It sucks for the child, first and foremost, he doesn't get mum and dad in the same bed, he doesn't get a cuddle from mum and dad at the same time.'
He particularly highlighted the pain of missing special moments, saying: 'Question marks over special occasions, can't be the same birthday twice. Sucks for mum, sucks for dad.'
Personal Life and Relationships
The rapper also touched on the smaller, everyday moments he misses, explaining: 'It's the bits of incidental parenting you get to do... getting home after work, being able to give your kid a kiss on the head while they sleep.'
Professor Green and Karima McAdams, an actress known for her role in spy series Deep State, were first linked in July 2019. The star proposed seven months after they welcomed their son Slimane.
In other personal news, Professor Green recently revealed that he and his ex-wife Millie Mackintosh are back in touch, nearly a decade after their divorce was finalised in 2016. He told Jamie Laing's Great Company podcast that he holds no resentment towards Millie, describing her as 'gorgeous' and acknowledging they were 'not good for each other at that time.'
The former couple, who married in 2013 but divorced just three years later, have apparently found common ground through their shared experience of having previously undiagnosed ADHD, which Green described as a form of 'trauma bonding'.
