Thomas Skinner's Strictly Come Dancing Journey Ends After Chaotic Samba | Exclusive
Thomas Skinner Eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing

The glitterball trophy has slipped from Thomas Skinner's grasp as the beloved businessman and his professional partner, Dianne Buswell, became the second couple to be eliminated from this year's Strictly Come Dancing.

Their exit came after a dramatic Sunday night results show that saw them face off against former Coronation Street actress Catherine Tyldesley and her partner, Johannes Radebe, in the dreaded dance-off.

The Fateful Dance-Off

Both couples reprised their Saturday night performances in a bid to impress the judges and secure their place in the competition. Skinner and Buswell once again took on the Samba to 'Money, Money, Money' from Mamma Mia!, a routine that had previously earned them a modest score of 17 points.

Despite Skinner's infectious enthusiasm and undeniable charisma, the judges were unanimous in their decision. Head Judge Shirley Ballas, along with Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse, all voted to save Tyldesley and Radebe, citing a stronger technical performance.

An Emotional Farewell

A visibly emotional Skinner was gracious in defeat. Upon hearing the decision, he immediately hugged his dance partner, declaring the entire experience "the best thing I've ever done."

"I've had the time of my life," he told co-hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman. "I've met a friend for life in Dianne. She's the most amazing woman, the most amazing teacher. I've had so much fun."

He also took a moment to express his gratitude to the entire Strictly production team, the crew, and his fellow celebrities, calling them "the most amazing people."

A Partner's Praise

Professional dancer Dianne Buswell was full of praise for her celebrity partner's spirit and work ethic. "I've had the most fun with this man every single day," she said. "He comes in with a smile on his face, he makes me laugh. He's one of the most kind-hearted people I have ever met. I've had a ball."

The elimination now leaves nine couples remaining in the competition, all vying for the coveted Glitterball Trophy as the series continues next Saturday on BBC One.
