Filming for the fourth season of Apple TV+'s Emmy-winning comedy Ted Lasso has officially commenced in London, with most of the original cast returning. Jason Sudeikis, Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, Juno Temple, Brendan Hunt, and Jeremy Swift are all reprising their roles.
However, Gus Turner, who played Sudeikis's on-screen son Henry, has been replaced by child actor Grant Feely, known for his role in Obi-Wan Kenobi. According to sources, the recasting was due to a need for an actor proficient in soccer, as Henry's character may have a more active role in the new season. The role has the option to be promoted to series regular.
New cast members include Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsay, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, and Abbie Hern. Some are expected to portray players on the AFC Richmond women's soccer team, which Ted will now coach. The season picks up after Ted returned to Kansas at the end of season three, with Roy Kent and Coach Beard staying as assistant coaches.
The official logline states: 'Ted returns to Richmond, taking on his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second division women’s football team.' The first episode is reportedly shooting in Kansas City. A release date has not yet been announced.
