Roman Kemp Rules Out Strictly Come Dancing Over Injury Fears

Roman Kemp, the 29-year-old radio host and television personality, has firmly ruled out ever appearing on Strictly Come Dancing, citing concerns over his injury-prone nature and sleep requirements. The Capital FM breakfast show presenter, known for his work on Celebrity Gogglebox, described the BBC dance competition as 'the one show' he would never consider doing.

Speaking about his decision, Kemp said: 'I really couldn't think of anything worse because for several reasons - it's a fantastic show, probably one of the best shows on telly - but I would never do Strictly Come Dancing.' He explained that he can sleep up to 18 hours a day and is 'so injury-prone' that he would likely break something.

The only reason Kemp would have considered joining the show was for his late grandmother. He admitted: 'The only reason I would have done it if my nan was still alive. She would have wanted me to do it, and I probably would have done it for her.'

While Strictly is off the table, Kemp is focusing his efforts on mental health advocacy. Following his documentary 'Our Silent Emergency' last year, which explored the mental health and suicide crisis among young men, he plans to push for greater awareness and government action. Kemp stated: 'I think in terms of making mental health a bigger thing within schools and trying to speak to as many people as I can to get some movement going in the Government because it just feels so slow.'
