Strictly Come Dancing Boss Quits Ahead of Show's Makeover

Eve Winstanley, the former executive producer of Strictly Come Dancing, has announced her departure from the BBC show just two months before its highly anticipated autumn makeover. The news was shared by Winstanley on LinkedIn on Wednesday, July 8, where she reflected on her 16-year journey with the programme.

Winstanley's Career Journey

Winstanley began her career on Strictly: It Takes Two as an assistant producer in her twenties, shortly after working on the first series of Dancing on Ice. Over 16 series, she held five different roles, culminating in a decade as executive producer. She expressed pride in being part of the iconic brand but stated that earlier this year, she felt it was time to move on.

In her LinkedIn post, Winstanley wrote: "I started on Strictly: It Takes Two as a young 20-something Assistant Producer, who at the time had not long finished working on the first series of Dancing on Ice. I simply had no idea that the world of glitter and sequins would become such a massive part of my life."

Impact and Future Plans

Winstanley highlighted her role in nurturing young talent into leaders and making lifelong friends. She expressed excitement for future projects, teasing "fun new projects in the pipeline." Her departure comes as the show prepares for a major makeover this autumn, with a new team set to take over.

Winstanley concluded: "I'm so excited for what the future holds and have fun new projects in the pipeline, so watch this space... Keep Dancing!"
